Hearing loss is commonly caused by aging, noise, disease, and genetics. Some people have a hearing problem but don’t even realize it. At Meadville Hearing Aids, we specialize in hearing aids that utilize the world’s best performing technology for mild, moderate, and severe hearing loss. We also have supplies for your hearing healthcare needs including hearing aid batteries, wax guards, ProEar (for wax control and itching ears) and cleaning tools. With locations in Clarksville and Fort Smith, AR, we’ve been serving the hearing impaired since 1962.
Do you have difficulty understanding conversations in noisy places? Do people have to repeat themselves to you? Those with hearing loss often don’t know what they’re not hearing until they wear properly prescribed hearing aids. Our licensed hearing aid providers perform diagnostic hearing evaluations to assess the probable cause and extent of your hearing loss. We look in your ear canal to determine if a build-up of wax could be causing your hearing problems or if see evidence of other medical conditions that would require you to see an ENT specialist. We can also evaluate if your current hearing aid is still working for you.
Hearing Aid Fitting
After selecting the correct hearing aids for you, we will properly fit them to your ear and adjust them for your hearing loss. Since the shape and size of your ears, as well as your hearing loss, is unique, we fit and adjust your aids personally for your individual needs and lifestyle. Your hearing aids should be comfortable and provide clear sound quality. Successful hearing aid fittings are different for each person. Contact us today to learn more!
Hearing Aid Technology
Digital hearing aids are essentially small computers that process sound to make it louder and as true-to-life as possible. Some features of digital hearing aids include feedback cancellation to remove feedback before you hear it, directional microphones to focus on certain voices you want to hear, music programs to differentiate between speech and music, and noise management to help you hear more comfortably in a variety of environments. Wireless hearing aids allow your hearing aids to communicate with each other for better hearing in noise and a more balanced hearing experience. This also makes it possible to control your hearing aids with your phone and stream your calls, music and other audio inputs directly to your hearing aids. Rechargeable options mean you never have to worry about your battery going dead at the wrong time.
Hearing Aid Styles
Invisible in Canal (IIC)
The Miniscopic™ is a deep insertion hearing aid that is 100% invisible*. It is customized to fit your ear’s canal and features completely programmable digital technology. Designed to be removed daily, it is available for a variety of hearing losses.
* Invisibility may vary based on your ear’s anatomy.
Completely in Canal (CIC)
The CIC option is a nearly invisible solution except for a removal cord and is only slightly larger than the Miniscopic™ hearing aid. If you are looking for high-end technology in a small package, the CIC is your choice.
In the Canal (ITC)
For mild to mildly severe hearing loss, ITC instruments are custom built for your ear so they fit comfortably. Only the face of the device extends into the outer ear, while the body extends into your ear canal. The slightly larger design offers extra power, making the ITC a great selection.
In the Ear (ITE)
A classic option for patients who want a more powerful device is the ITE which resides in their ear. Designed for mild to severe hearing loss, the user-friendly controls are easy to operate and offer extraordinarily powerful technology.
mini Receiver in Canal
The smallest RIC ever designed is the Mini RIC which is virtually invisible when worn. Despite being so tiny, it packs a punch when it comes to performance, style and one of a kind features.
Receiver in Canal (RIC)
RIC instruments combine form and function and are the perfect choice for many first-time wearers. A sleek shell housing the microphone sits discreetly behind your ear to eliminate feedback. Amazingly comfortable, RICs are extremely lightweight and have an “open fit” design, which makes them barely noticeable when worn.

Appropriate for most types of hearing loss and ages, the mini BTE rests behind the ear. It features React Touch Control Technology, which allows you to adjust the volume and settings to match your environment. This hearing instrument is the smallest BTE model, available with thin tubing and a tiny earbud for ultimate discretion.
Behind the Ear (BTE)
Programmable for nearly any hearing loss severity, the BTE can fulfill the needs of most patients. They can handle the most power and circuitry of any style of hearing aid. Accompanied with React Touch Control, BTE devices are easy to use, easy to handle, and easy to wear.
